Becoming a Member

First register your details by downloading the App.

Once you have registered you can then become a Marden Sports Club Member which automatically makes you a Silver Padel Member.

This costs just £40 for a year and allows you to book a court ten days in advance at one of the most competitive hourly rates that you will find anywhere in Kent (see table for pricing).

To become a Marden Sports Club Member / Silver Padel Member click on the home screen of the App, click on your name  – then ‘membership’ – then ‘subscribe’ – then ‘club membership’.

We do also have a higher level of membership – Gold Padel Member – which currently costs an additional £25 p.a. and offers 15-day advanced booking and a further discount off the price.

Gold Padel Membership is currently full. Those wishing to join a waiting list for Gold Membership should email:  padelmembershipmsc@gmail.com

While we encourage everyone playing at Marden to become a member, non-members and guests can register, book courts and play. They are able to book five days in advance (see table for pricing).

Padel FAQs

Yes, this is definitely a family friendly activity, allowing groups of mixed ages and abilities to play together.

Suitable attire and footwear is imperative. Padel bats can be hired from the clubhouse for a modest fee and padel balls can be purchased. We plan to stock a few bats for purchase.

No. Padel balls are of similar size and weight to tennis balls but are of lower pressure.

The game is intended for doubles, due to the smaller size court (relative to tennis) and higher speed of the game. It’s very hard to cover the court when playing singles.

Yes, we plan to introduce tournaments, Americanos and ladders for those seeking competitive play.

Quite simply, jump in and have a go. We run various sessions and groups that are ideal for beginners. Message padel@mardensportsclub.com and find out the latest info and the best way to get started. Also which of the various WhatsApp groups you may find useful.

We plan to offer padel coaching with a professional partner, to be announced in due course.

It was invented in Mexico in 1969 (though similar games were played on transatlantic cruise ships in the early 20th century).
